  2. 1/2 cup urad dal
  3. 1/4 cup chana daal
  4. 1 inch ginger 3-4 garlic cloves
  5. 2 green chilli
  6. 1 tsp salt or to taste
  7. 1 tsp eno
  8. 1 onion
  9. 1 carrot
  10. 1/2 beetroot
  11. 1/2 capsicum
  12. 1 handful coriander leaves
  13. 2 tbsp cooking oil to cook Appam

Steps to make to make Rice Paniyaram or Appam

  1. Wash and Soak rice and dal for overnight.
    In morning drain rice and dal, grind it with ginger-garlic- chilli to make a fine paste.
    Add very little water while grinding. We need idli batter like consistency.
  2. Finely Chopped all vegetables and mix them with prepared batter.
    Now add salt and eno in the batter and mix well.
  3. Heat Appam pan, greased it with oil. Fill batter In each cavity. keep the flame on low. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes, flip appams, again cover and cook another side for 2 minutes.
  4. Rice Appam is ready. Serve hot with spicy green chutney and coconut chutney.
